"Start where you are. Use what you have. Do what you can." - Arthur Ashe
I currently provide counseling viaGonski Counseling Services in Inverness, IL. Starting late August 2019, I will be located in Long Grove. (Due to counseling guidelines, I'm only able to provide counseling within the state of IL, whether in-person or via telehealth [online/phone] counseling.)
Reaching Out for Initial Consultation Call
To learn more about counseling services and to explore if I'm a good fit, I offer a 15-minute initial consultation call. Use the Contact page or my Psychology Today profile to reach out via email or phone to chat or schedule a session. Please mention the best way to reach you. I look forward to talking with you! (Please note: Communications via email or social media outlets are not secure. It is advised to limit personal heath information and details shared via these methods.)
Scheduling an Appointment
If you are ready to begin counseling, please contact me and we can schedule our initial appointment. Upon scheduling your session, you will receive a link to a client portal via email where you will enter your information and gain access to intake paperwork (NOTE: Current clients can access the client portal via the link here).
Intake forms include informed consents/policies, demographic/insurance information, and a general questionnaire regarding why you're seeking counseling. Completing the requested information prior to the session will help me understand how I can help you prior to your first appointment. (If you are unable to access the information online for any reason, please let me know and I can arrange to have the paperwork available prior to your session.)
What to Expect During Counseling Sessions
Sessions are typically 45-60 minutes long, although the initial session or two are 60 minutes. The first few sessions will be an assessment period to collect information to help us collaborate in creating goals for treatment. Please know it's normal to be nervous about counseling, especially if you've never been or aren't quite sure what to talk about - I understand. My goal is to build rapport with my clients from the start to help them feel comfortable with the process of counseling. In order to help my clients, I utilize a variety of therapeutic models, tailored to each client or situation, including Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution-Focused, Family Systems, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). Learn about my qualifications and experience here.
I'm currently in-network with BCBS & United Healthcare. If I am out-of-network for your insurance, I can provide you with a monthly superbill/receipt upon request which you can submit to your out-of-network insurance company. Any reimbursement from your insurance company will be sent to you.Contact your insurance company if you have any questions regarding your insurance company's benefits and coverage for mental health counseling services. (I also work with clients opting not to use insurance, or self-pay clients).
Session costs vary based on session length and format. Please inquire for more details, or to discuss insurance or costs. Payment/fees are due at the time of service.
If you are unable to attend a session, please contact me as soon as possible. You may be charged a late cancellation fee for sessions cancelled less than 24 hours from scheduled counseling sessions, or for not showing up for a scheduled session. The late cancellation/no-show fee is the full session fee, which is not covered by insurance. Therefore, this fee is your responsibility.
