General Individual Counseling for Those 18+:
Are you a young adult needing guidance as you prepare for college, jobs or adulthood?
Trying your best to manage anxiety, overwhelming feelings, or stress?
Maybe you're stuck trying to navigate a tough relationship?
It could be that you're tired of spreading yourself too thin and need to make life decisions?
Or maybe you're a mom dealing with family conflict?
No matter the reason you're seeking support, my goal is to help you gain clarity, tap into your own strengths, and build the skills you need to move forward. Even with individual therapy, I welcome including others in sessions when appropriate.
Food Allergy or Health-Specific Counseling for All Ages/Families/Caregivers:
Maybe you find it challenging to cope with the diagnosis, or the emotional and social impacts?
Perhaps you need guidance on navigating family/social scenarios, developing self-advocacy within your child, or communicating your food allergy rules to others?
Or you may find yourself (or your child) struggling with excessive anxiety or worry after a recent anaphylactic reaction or oral food challenge appointment?
For those managing food allergies, counseling with a food allergy-knowledgeable behavioral healthcare provider can be beneficial. Due to my experience with/knowledge of IgE-mediated food allergies and food allergy trials/treatments, I can help you through your own food allergy journey and building coping strategies, resilience and an empowered mindset. (For food allergy mental health resources, counselor directory, and blog, visit the Food Allergy Counselor website).
Motherhood & Parenting Counseling:
Has parenthood/motherhood thrown you off course, making you feel unprepared for the parenting journey ahead?
Are you and your spouse finding it hard to parent together as a team?
Has there been an increase in conflict between you and your teen?
Are tensions between you and extended family members making family gatherings awkward?
Families are like a mobile; all members play a role in its balance or lack of balance. It's important to remember that parents and caregivers often need support and guidance, too. Family counseling helps develop an understanding of current issues, as well as how each member can assist the family in navigating back to a better state of harmony. Having trained in family therapy, I use a systems mentality to effectively help the puzzle pieces move back into place. (All family members aren't required to attend all sessions; family therapy can be successful with various members attending various sessions.)
Group Sessions & Educational Workshops: Whether it's support groups or therapy groups, being in an atmosphere with others who are going through similar experiences can be truly beneficial. In addition to talking about experiences, useful tools will be shared. Another way of gaining insight and life tools is through attending educational workshops on topics you'd benefit from. Workshops aren't just for counseling clients; they're open to all who might benefit from them. (As groups or workshops are offered, details will be posted. Learn more about educational workshops here, and reach out if you'd like me to host one at your location.)
