(NOTE: Client portal links expire within 24 hours. If you don't login within 24 hours, click on the expired link, and you should be able to input your email address to receive a new link. What to Expect During Counseling Sessions
Sessions are typically 50-60 minutes long, although the initial session or two are 60 minutes. The first few sessions will be an assessment period to collect information that helps us collaborate in creating goals for treatment. Please know it's normal to be nervous about counseling, especially if you've never been or aren't quite sure what to talk about . Trust me, I understand. My goal is to build rapport with my clients from the start to help them feel comfortable with the process of counseling. In order to help my clients, I utilize a variety of therapeutic models, tailored to each client or situation, including mindfulness-based Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral (CBT), Solution-Focused, and Family Systems. I'm currently in-network with BCBS and United Healthcare. If I am out-of-network for your insurance, I can provide you with a monthly superbill/receipt upon request which you can submit to your insurance company. In those situations, any reimbursement from your insurance company will be sent to you. Please contact your insurance company if you have any questions regarding your insurance benefits and coverage for mental health counseling services. I also work with clients opting not to use insurance, or self-pay clients.
