Who Food Allergy Consulting is For

Woman Studying Online

Food allergy consultations may be a good fit if you:

  • Want to ask informed questions about living with food allergies, but do not need therapy

  • Feel overwhelmed or stuck navigating a specific food allergy–related challenge

  • Are seeking reputable, evidence-based information and resources

  • Want help clarifying next steps or preparing for conversations with your allergist/care team

What Food Allergy Consultations Are

Educational food allergy consultations are discussions that are:

  • 100% informational and educational, offering evidence-based psychoeducation, recommendations, and resources

  • Brief and targeted, typically limited to 1–3 meetings depending on your needs

  • Focused on a specific topic or challenge, rather than ongoing emotional treatment

  • Centered on education, problem-solving and gaining clarity, not psychotherapy

Important Scope Clarification:

Food allergy consulting is not therapy and does not involve diagnosis, treatment of anxiety, or psychotherapy. These consultations also do not provide medical advice or replace care from an allergist or healthcare provider. Instead, meetings focus on education, understanding, and helping you feel more confident navigating allergy-related information and decisions.

If you are seeking therapeutic support for anxiety or emotional overwhelm, therapy services are available for clients in Illinois, Florida, and Ohio

  • Developing a growth-oriented mindset when preparing for oral food challenges and considering treatment options such as oral immunotherapy (OIT)

  • Preparing impactful questions to ask your allergist or allergy care team

  • Reviewing information sources to determine whether they are evidence-based and helpful, or fueling anxiety and fear
